Doddie’5 Ride - 17 July 2022

A few spots of rain here and there in the morning but it turned out to be a glorious and sunny day in Melrose for Doddie’5 Ride 2022. Lovely to see Doddie Weir and Gary Armstrong arrive very early - to a round of applause from all who had already gathered in the field.

Doddie wanted to be at the start line and saw off the “Doddie’5 Big Yin” (93 mile route), the “Doddie’5 Classic” (60 miles) and the “Doddie’5 Challenge (22 miles) riders. Ever popular, everyone wanted their photo taken with him or simply just to have a chat.

Great to see old and new friends, enjoy the atmosphere and soak up the sun - smiles and laughter all round!

A huge thanks and well done to Peter Winterbottom (Doddie’5 Ride) and his team of volunteers for another wonderful day.
